  • (c) Update your hours in your Senior Project Hours link. Make sure it is clearly labeled with hours for individual sessions as well as total hours.
Explain what you completed.
After working 30+ hours I worked on several other marketing campaigns. My first campaign I worked on was Coachella ( click link). My mentor, Claudia Yuscoff, told me for most part I would be doing research (at least campaign wise). She gave me the lineup of several 100 performers and I realizes she wasn't kidding when she said she had work I could do. So what I did for Coachella's music festival campaign was research the performers for Latino roots. The reason I was researching for this is because Conill is a marketing firm that focuses specifically at the Latino population. So we look for people who can promote the brand and gain a strong following and liking from the consumers. If they have Latino roots, then it's obviously easier to gain the attention of  the Latino population. If they can't find someone, it's not really a problem because the main part of the advertisement is finding some who suits it.  But the goal is to find both so I write down people I think they could possible use to help T-Mobile to promote. So the most important part is finding someone suitable for your advertisement (look&attitude) My second campaign I began to work on was 2 EDM Festivals, called Electric Zoo (click link) and Wonderland. My aunt gave a list of over 100 performers to research for the same reason as above. I did research for them most recent Latino awards show and they created several vine posts to market it. I couldn't find the exact link to the actual carpet videos but I have their vine page( T-Mobile Vine). For this I didn't do much research but more observing considering it was the Latino awards. I went in several meetings where my aunt was talking to T-Mobile about their vision of the advertisement. Then as all the previous projects and my future projects I watched how the work all ties together to create the final product. The last one I've worked on and that they're wrapping up soon, is the super bowl commercial for T-Mobile and Toyota. I checked if any other brands had given any teasers early and at previous Super Bowl commercials to see and take notes about the fundamentals of what they look for in a good commercial. This is what I have accumulated so far, each Campaign length varied on how big it was and how much work was estimated.
  • INTERPRETIVE
Defend your work and explain its significance to your project and how it demonstrates 30 hours of work.   Provide evidence (photos, transcript, art work, videos, etc) of the 30 hours of work.
So as I explained above I've worked on several campaigns and provided essential research for choices that were made. My mentor had told me that they always wanted more research on anything that would help them advance in the campaign or take different routes but they didn't have time with multitasking and quick deadlines. Also at the meetings I took notes on the conversation just in case we wanted to bring up a point. I wanted to show the list of research I completed but I couldn't do it on a google doc, I guess their firm specifically wanted word. Next time I will remember to bring a flash drive so I can show the research notes I jotted down. But that's the boring part anyway, the fun part to see if the final product and I put them as links in the previous section where I talked about what I completed.
  • APPLIED
How did the component help you understand the foundation of your topic better?  Please include specific examples to illustrate this.
My extra 30 hours really helped me to grasp an understanding for the world of marketing. I only worked on 2 major campaigns with my previous hours so researching onto more campaigns really interested me these 2 events were different because they were bigger and more publicized. The musical Festival was popular but mainly upon that specific music fan group. Award shows are pretty popular here in America and the Super Bowl is one of Americas biggest sport events every year.
